Clergy Membership

AWAIC offers three Clergy membership types designed to honor the diverse paths that have led ministers or seminary students to interfaith/interspiritual ministry. We invite you to join us via our easy-to-use on-line forms below.

All memberships will be for the annual term or any portion of it from January 1, or date of application, expiring on December 31 of the same year. Renewal period will be the month of January the following year.

Clergy Fellow Member

Meets the following criteria: Formal training in an allied* Interfaith-Interspiritual program at an acknowledged organization of spiritual or religious interfaith studies. OR

  1. Must show knowledge, sensitivity, and interest in studying/working with traditional and interfaith ministry.
  2. Formal ministry education that has resulted in an Ordination by an allied* Interfaith-Interspiritual Seminary, allied* Traditional, Seminary; by installment into leadership with a partnered* “non-traditional” faith path, or working as Interfaith-Interspiritual Clergy, or professionally engaged within Interfaith-Interspiritual ministry.
  3. Includes those who actively reach beyond their original ordained tradition to intentionally engage multiple faith paths within the Interfaith-Interspiritual ideals.

If the seminary school you attended is listed below, please complete the Fellow Clergy application form. If your school is not listed below, please complete the Associate Clergy Member application and you will be contacted.

Membership Dues $75.

Clergy Associate Member

Meets the following criteria: Formal training in an allied* Interfaith-Interspiritual program at an acknowledged organization of spiritual or religious interfaith studies. OR

  1. Must show knowledge, sensitivity, and interest in studying/working with traditional and interfaith ministry.
  2. Formal ministry education that has resulted in an Ordination by an allied* Interfaith-Interspiritual Seminary, allied* Traditional, Seminary; by installment into leadership with a partnered* “non-traditional” faith path, or working as Interfaith-Interspiritual Clergy, or professionally engaged within Interfaith-Interspiritual ministry.
  3. Includes those who actively reach beyond their original ordained tradition to intentionally engage multiple faith paths within the Interfaith-Interspiritual ideals.

Membership Dues $75

Please fill in our Online Form to become a Clergy Associate. Please be patient while we process your application; there is a review process for seminary ordainee applications from institutions not presently partners with AWAIC.

Seminary Student Member

Meet the criteria below:

  1. Be a student matriculated at an allied* Interfaith Seminary, or a student with a strong Interfaith-Interspiritual perspective matriculated at a denominational or nondenominational seminary within 6 months of your ordination.
  2. Proof of registration and enrollment are required.

Normally student status cannot exceed 3 years; for exceptions please contact Membership.

Membership Dues: $40.00 to the end of current year term.

* Currently allied Interfaith-Interspiritual seminaries, schools or institutes are listed on our website. These require substantial Interfaith-Interspiritual academic, experiential, and training involvement, over a minimum of one year (accelerated) programs, typically at least two years. If you are connected to or from an Interfaith-Interspiritual organization not on this list, please contact our Membership Chair.

Organization Status

A World Alliance of Interfaith Clergy is an independent U.S. tax-exempt (501 (c) (6)) organization, to professionally support and be a home for interfaith and interspiritual ministers and allied individual partners in various membership categories, including students, business, and healing arts. We have a variety of cooperative relationships with other independent organizations, including interfaith and interspiritual seminaries and other interfaith/interspiritual organizations in the USA and internationally.
